Oil and Glass on Stretched Linen

Madonna-whore complex:  a psychological and cultural phenomenon in which women are categorized into two rigid and mutually exclusive archetypes: the Madonna (virtuous, pure, and motherly) and the whore (sexual, debased, and promiscuous). This split prevents society from viewing a woman as a whole, complex human being who can be both respected and desired.
